Boy Scout Troop, Troop 389 of Yukon, OK

Shelley Molet-Olsen: "Our Boy Scout Troop, Troop 389 of Yukon, OK, had a booth set up at our local Chisholm Trail Festival as well as a Show & Sale at or Lowe's Home Improvement Store to sale the Responsible Fundraiser First Aid Kits. Between the two events, we made over $1200 for our troop and our Scouts earned their Salesmanship Merit Badge to boot. The products were very well received by the public and we even had to take orders for more. It was worth every penny for the purchase of the products and we will be doing this again REAL SOON! I have to say a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Brooke and Mr. Wheeler for helping us out of a VERY TIGHT PINCH! As far as I'm concerned, you both have earned your Merit Badge for Customer Service (if there were such a badge). Again, Thank you! From Troop 389, Yukon, OK"

Troop 626 raised $2,400! They started off with a small amount and kept having to order more. The Scouts sold door to door, gave away as gifts for the holidays, and did several show and sells at the local grocery store. Here is what their leader Dan Cotter had to say: “The kits fit well with Boy Scouts motto, "Be prepared." Tied in with the Boy Scouts motto and both a fundraiser and a public awareness project, Scouts made the pitch that having a first aid kit in their homes and cars was a good way to be prepared. People were very complimentary of the idea to sell first aid kits in the pouches." Way to go Troop 626! Thank you for sharing your success story.
